Public Outreach and Meeting Schedule


We need your input! Involving the public in an Airport Master Plan Study Update is a key component to a successful project. The level of public involvement should be proportional to the complexity of the Study and to the public and key stakeholder interest in the project. The public involvement process is designed to involve all interested parties in the decision-making process. It is also designed to encourage exchange of opinions and sharing of information between the Airport sponsor (Wayne County Airport Authority) and key stakeholders such as airport users, tenants, governmental agencies, elected and appointed public officials, community groups, residents and other interested parties.

Public Outreach Meetings
Opportunities for public participation and comment will take place throughout the Master Plan Study Update process. A series of public informational meetings will be held at various times to provide information and solicit public feedback about the alternatives being studied.

All meeting notices will be posted on this website in advance of the scheduled meeting. Meetings will be held in fully accessible locations and accommodations made for various disabilities. The tentative meeting schedule is as follows:

1st Meeting – April 26, 2016, 5:00 – 7:30 pm
Location:  Holiday Inn Express Hotel, 46194 N. I-94 Service Drive in Belleville, MI

2nd Meeting – Tuesday, October 18, 2016, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Location:  Holiday Inn Express Hotel, 46194 N. I-94 Service Drive in Belleville, MI

3rd Meeting – Winter of 2016 or early 2017

Key Stakeholder Interviews
Meetings with special interest groups or other key individuals will be held throughout the Master Plan Study Update Process. If your group would like a special meeting/presentation, please make a request in the comment section which can be found on the Comments page.
